The 27th annual Festival of Mountain & Plain, A Taste of Colorado, will be held Friday-Monday, Sept. 3-6 in and around Civic Center Park, Colfax & Broadway.
Festival hours will be Friday 11:30 am-10 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10:30 am-10 pm, and Monday, Sept. 6 10:30 am-8 pm.
Several streets will be closed over the holiday weekend, with some, such as Bannock and Cleveland, shut down as early as 6:30 pm on Wednesday night. Key closures of other major thoroughfares will include:

The Denver Art Museum, 13th & Acoma, has announced “SCFD September,” a special ticket offer for its Tutankhamun exhibit “to thank citizens for their continued support of the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District.”
During September residents in the seven-county SCFD will be eligible to receive one free youth ticket to “Tutankhamun: The Golden King & the Great Pharaohs” for every adult or senior ticket purchased ($25, $30 or $23).

Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods (CHUN) will host its 3rd annual Wine-Tasting & Silent Auction Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the CHUN Community Center, 1290 Williams at the Tears McFarlane House, 6-9 pm.
The fund-raiser will feature a variety of wines, a catered light buffet, live music, and a silent auction. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased online, by phone, or at the CHUN office.

Sept. 10 soiree benefitting Red Apple Fund to feature ‘dueling’ DJs

Brew at the Zoo, the Denver Zoo’s annual fund-raiser, hadn’t sold out as of deadline, but it is expected to do so. The event supports the Red Apple Fund, which makes it possible for everyone, regardless of economic circumstance, to discover the Zoo though participation in special education programs.
The 13th annual Brew will be held Friday, Sept. 10, 7-10 pm, and will feature more than 40 Colorado breweries, complimentary appetizers from 15 or more restaurants, music and dancing. Last year the soiree drew more than 3,000 partygoers.
