Gallery 6, a photography gallery, has opened in a new space in the Art District on Santa Fe.

The three partners — all Denver-area photographers — are Tony Eitzel, tonyeitzel.com; Kevin Schwalbe, kevinschwalbe.com; and Scott Wilson, wilsonaxpe.com.

Gallery 6 first opened in March 2021 in Cherry Creek, and opened on Santa Fe for the district’s May First Friday.

Eitzel has been involved with galleries across Denver, including 14 years at John Fielder’s gallery formerly located in the Art District on Santa Fe.

“Being back here is like coming home,” Eitzel said.

The new space is about 1,400 square feet and features the partners’ work that includes a good variety of photography — landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, around-the-world, wildlife and more.

Future plans include leasing a space for a weekend to an artist so they can have their own showing, Eitzel said. For now, photographer David Stephens is renting a wall in the gallery.

“There has been a bit of a void (since) the Fielder gallery closed, as far as photography is concerned,” Eitzel said. “We wanted to fill that void.”

Gallery 6, 918 W. Eighth Ave., is open from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The gallery opens on Tuesday for appointments only.
